Talking Community and Tech at the LA Sports Innovation Conference

Today, visionaries from journalists to executives to NBA champions convened at the LA Sports Innovation Conference to engage in dynamic discussions about the future of the professional sports industry. Exploring emerging trends in sports, networking, knowledge sharing, and opening avenues for collaboration, these movers and shakers broke down a slew of topics and factors affecting sports as played in the LA region and globally in proactive panels and keynotes.

BigSpeak is a proud sponsor of this conference, which gathers thought leaders, athletes, and innovators to discuss the transformative advances shaping sports around the globe, from how AI will impact sports and how sports media evolves over time in conjunction with fan engagement and an abundance of streaming services. Our EVP Ken Sterling reported from the conference floor that discussions have ranged from youth programs for children acting as investments for the communities’ futures and more broadly, how entertainment districts impact and benefit Southern California communities. Speakers and high-profile guests included USC Annenberg staff, former NBA player Matt Barnes, COO at United States Olympic and Paralympic Properties Danny Koblin, and sports executive Heather Karatz.

Hosted by the LA Sports Council, which has been celebrating the LA region’s sports community since 1988, the conference is in partnership with community initiative Ready, Set, Gold! which works with local public-school districts to support healthy and active lifestyles for children.
