Dr. Shalom Saada Saar believes that most of us have the capacity to lead, and he has dedicated his career to helping leaders around the world identify and cultivate their unique leadership talents. Believing deeply that you can’t lead others until you know how to lead yourself, Dr. Saar developed the highly acclaimed program, Leading Self and Others, that has ignited a passion for leadership in people around the globe. Dr. Saar’s underlining philosophy stems from his personal experience and conviction that people in general aspire to become better.

Throughout his career as head of a naval academy, academic administrator, VP for executive development and consultant to governmental agencies and corporations, Dr. Saar has dedicated himself to provide meaningful coaching and relevant mentoring to individuals and teams around the world. As a Professor of Leadership, he challenges emerging leaders to fundamentally examine new approaches to organizational development and culture building.
Dr. Saar is frequently sought out to deliver inspiring keynote speeches focusing on the importance of self-transformation and leadership. He has brought his unique perspective on culture and leadership to various industries. Participants consistently remark that they are inspired by his insights and common-sense approach to leading oneself and others. He has captured the essence of his teaching in his book published by Wiley, Leading with Conviction: Mastering the Nine Critical Pillars of Integrated Leadership. He is currently serving as an Associate Dean for Executive Education and as Samuel N. Friedland Professor of Leadership at the University of Miami Business School. In addition, he is working on his forthcoming book focusing on comparing thinking patterns between Chinese and western executives.

Dr. Saar taught at Harvard University, MIT, University of Vienna, Loyola University, China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Dr. Saar received his bachelor in economics and psychology from Swarthmore College and master and doctoral degrees in organizational behavior and administration from Harvard University.
