Rob made his television debut in 2002 on the hit CBS show “Survivor: Marquesas.” Rob’s compelling performance resulted in an appearance on “Survivor: All-Stars” later that same year, where he was the runner-up to his wife-to-be, Amber Brkich. Rob proposed to Amber during the live finale of “All-Stars,” and the two were married in front of millions of viewers during a two-hour CBS prime-time special, “Rob and Amber Get Married.” Rob has been a contestant on two additional Survivor seasons, “Heroes vs. Villains” in 2010, and 2011’s “Redemption Island,” for which he won the title of “Sole Survivor.” In 2019 he was asked back for a record 5th season as a mentor in season 39, “Survivor: Island of the
Idols”. He returned for his 6th and final Survivor appearance in season 40’s “Survivor: Winners at War”. Rob is also a two-time competitor, along with Amber, on the multi-Emmy-award-winning CBS show, “The Amazing Race,” and has starred in his own regular CBS Early Show segment, “Rob to the Rescue.”
Between their two appearances on “The Amazing Race,” Rob and Amber filmed a 10-episode show for the Fox Reality Channel, “Rob and Amber: Against the Odds,” which aired in 2007. Set in Las Vegas, the program followed Rob’s attempt to become a professional poker player under the tutelage of poker champion Daniel Negreanu. Rob also served as executive producer of the show, putting his years of experience in television to good use by trying his hand at the production side of things. Rob has hosted various television events and shows, including ABC’s “The Split,” UPN’s “The Player,” Sci-Fi’s “Sci-Fi Investigates,” and the 2007 mega-reward reality show, “Tontine,” which never aired. In 2013, Rob wrote his first book, The Boston Rob Rulebook: Strategies for Life, in which he shares some of the life lessons he’s learned starting from his early childhood years in a strong, loving Italian home, continuing through his experiences and adventures as a reality TV personality, and then as a father and entrepreneur.
Rob has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Boston University. He is an avid golfer and poker player, and, as you can probably guess, a huge fan of all things Boston. Whether it’s the Patriots, the Bruins, the Celtics or his beloved Red Sox, you can always find him rooting on his hometown team. Of course, being Italian, he loves food and enjoys playing chef for his five favorite girls—his wife, Amber, and his four young daughters, Lucia Rose, Carina Rose, Isabetta Rose, and Adelina Rose. Rob is currently focusing his attention on his production company, Murlonio Productions, LLC, developing new and innovative projects in the television and entertainment industry. He lives in Pensacola, Florida and continues to be an adventurer and entrepreneur at heart.
