About Speaker Richard Schiff…
Richard Schiff is an accomplished actor who has appeared in dozens of movies and television shows. From 1999 to 2006, he portrayed White House aide Toby Ziegler in “The West Wing,” a role that earned him three Emmy nominations and the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2000. He has also appeared in “ER,” “NYPD Blue,” “Entourage” and many other shows. He has extensive film credits, including roles in Ray, I Am Sam, Malcolm X, Lost World: Jurassic Park and Deep Impact.
Richard currently stars as ‘Dr. Aaron Glassman’ on ABC’s drama series, THE GOOD DOCTOR, which was just renewed for a third season. THE GOOD DOCTOR is ABC’s most-watched freshman series in over 13 years, averaging 15.4 million viewers during its first season. Richard can also be seen in HBO’s BALLERS playing Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s very successful and demanding boss, ‘Brett Anderson’.
Schiff also has a longstanding career in theater; he most recently performed the one-man play Underneath the Lintel at the Duchess Theatre in London’s West End. He won a Drama-Logue Award for his starring role in David Rabe’s Goose and Tom Tom, and an Ovation Award for his role in Urban Folktales. He began his career in New York, where he founded and served as artistic director of the Manhattan Repertory Theater and directed off-Broadway productions, including Antigone, starring Angela Bassett. Richard is currently on the National Advisory Board of the Council for a Livable World.
