100% of Speaker Fees Go Directly to Nonprofit Efforts
Giving back to society is in my DNA. While I spent 30+ years in service to our Nation, my ability to be truly “philanthropic” by generous donations of money to worthy causes was limited. I spent over 15 years overseas in environments with sparse resources, so “philanthropy” meant spending time coaching youth sports teams, officiating various sporting events, and running concession stands to raise money for various service organizations. It didn’t seem like much, but it was important to support our servicemembers and their children. Even though the efforts were helpful, it didn’t seem like I was doing enough. “I’ll have more opportunities once I’m retired and settled in one place; I can have much more of a positive impact then,” I often told myself. That time has come…
The focus of my nonprofit/philanthropic efforts is on Youth (Character) Development and Scholarship. Giving young people a good start and a “leg up” in life is my passion. Too often in today’s American society, adults aren’t willing to model the behavior they want to see in their children but are quick to lament the actions of younger generations. Our Youth (Character) Development efforts, Leadership & Ethics Speaker Series, and Scholarship programs focus on effective modeling for our youth.
That is why 100% of our speaking fees go directly to our nonprofit efforts (www.calyxandbeau.org and www.totalcourage.org)
