Mark Campbell, CEO of 3dot Insights, leverages his extensive technical experience to guide innovation teams leveraging emerging technologies. His connection into the academic, venture capital, and startup communities, allowing him to provide valuable insights through presentations, workshops, webinars, articles, and podcasts.
Campbell’s tech journey began in the US Navy’s avionics field in the 1980s, progressing through command-and-control systems at Ford Aerospace and Loral, where he first encountered AI in the early 1990s. He then joined a small startup, BEA Systems, helping them expand into 11 countries and become the world’s fastest growing software company.
His recent focus includes advising on quantum technologies, particularly post-quantum cryptography. In 2020, he assisted Oxford University spin-off Quantum Dice, a space-based quantum random number generator for secure satellite communications. Other areas of research include DNA-based data storage, autonomous vehicles, digital humans, and synthetic data.

Campbell authors an IEEE column, hosted the “TEKnically Speaking” and “Founder Formula” podcasts, and has held leadership roles at EVOTEK, Trace3, DIRECTV, HP, BEA, MCI, and Loral/Ford Aerospace. He also does advisory work with the Canadian Consulate and Israeli Trade & Economic Mission.
Along with a B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics from Adams State University and an M.S. in Systems Engineering from Colorado Technical University, Campbell also holds several technical patents.
