What was supposed to be the happiest time of Dr. Jennifer Arnold’s life turned into her worst nightmare. In 2013 during the adoption of her and husband Bill Klein’s second child Zoey, from India, Dr. Arnold received the devastating news that she was battling a rare form of cancer. Knowing giving up wasn’t an option after hearing her Stage 3 diagnosis, she fought for her life with intense treatments and the tireless support of family, friends, colleagues and health professionals.
An advocate for spreading cancer awareness and supporting those on the road to recovery, Dr. Arnold shares her inspiring journey of survivorship that began half way around the world. Always a very career driven person, she realized she had to take a step back and determine what mattered most. Gaining a new appreciation for life, she quickly realized that it’s equally important to be “quality of life driven,” and learned to prioritize what’s most important for her family, herself and for her work. She gained a new perspective on “not sweating the small stuff” and at every turn, there was a valuable lesson as she gained a new appreciation for life. Her message is one of hope and shows that when life gets difficult, lessons become clearer and the meaning shines through.
