James Curleigh joined the company in July 2012 to serve as President of the Levi’s® brand. In this position, he is responsible for managing the strategic direction and execution of the brand. With his team, he is focused on building on the brand’s strong heritage by identifying innovative ways to connect with consumers around the world. Arguably one of the biggest accomplishments of his tenure, thus far, has been securing the brand’s naming rights for the San Francisco 49ers new stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Curleigh is passionate about building brands and leading exceptional teams, and he has translated this to a track record of consistently strong results throughout his career.
His unwavering commitment to creative design and craftsmanship makes him a strong leader for the Levi’s® brand as well as a strong member of the company’s worldwide leadership team.
Curleigh has more than 20 years of experience building and expanding consumer brands around the globe. Prior to joining Levi Strauss & Co., Curleigh served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Keen Footwear, Inc., a footwear and accessory company. Before Keen, Curleigh was president and chief executive officer of Salomon Sports North America, an innovative performance sports company. He also established and led TaylorMade adidas golf division in Europe and held various leadership positions in the London office of M&M Mars, a global consumer goods company.
In 2018, Curleigh announced he would be leaving Levi Strauss & Co. to explore new frontiers.

The son of a navy helicopter pilot has spent the past 45-plus years traversing the globe, with a third of his life spent in Canada, a third in the U.S. and a third in Great Britain. Learning different languages, meshing with new cultures and navigating through life’s challenges — especially during high school — was something that Curleigh constantly faced.
Curleigh holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Mary’s University in Nova Scotia, Canada.
