Get to Know the BigShriek Team Just in Time for Halloween!
As kids prepare their costumes and stake out the houses that give out full-size candy bars, the folks on our staff have their own ways of celebrating the spooky season. For some team members, Halloween means monster movies, while others skip right over the scary stuff and focus only on seasonal candies.
To get into the spirit of things, the cryptkeeper surveyed her fellow ghouls and goblins to see how they feel about some seasonal classics.

What’s the Scariest Movie You’ve Ever Seen?
Ken Sterling, EVP, names The Ring for out and out scariness, and Silence of the Lambs for general creepiness.
Tracy Powell, Events, saw The Exorcist, in 7th grade, and she still can’t eat pea soup!
Max Peck, Sales, may not normally one for scary movies, but found Annihilation a genuinely unsettling and upsetting watch.
Barrett Cordero, President, is still haunted by the Tim Curry version of IT he watched back in the 90s.
What’s Your Favorite Halloween Candy?
Amy E, Sales, will skip the fright flick and enjoy a purple bag of wild berry skittles. I could go for some of those myself right about now, but served in a goblet to maintain the spooky ambiance.
Eleanor, Events, adores Milky Ways. We are birds of a feather in that sense. I never shared the Milky Ways that were tossed into my pillowcase.
Julie, Sales, likes all classic treats: caramel apples, candy corn, and apple cider.
Reese’s are popular with our team members. Sales team members Heather, Barrett and Mikaela plus Bethany in Finance all prize them above other Halloween sweets.
What Movie Monster Do You Think You Could Take in a Fight? What Monster Would You Fall To?
Bethany, Finance, fancies she might be able to take on a single ghost, but draws the line at the King of the Monsters, Godzilla, which seems very fair. I don’t think our whole team working together could even make a dent in the big guy.
Matthew, Finance and HR, believes he could go mano a mano with Victor Frankenstein’s most ill-thought out project, but is sure he’d be defeated in turn by the nefarious and iconic Pennywise. Max also thinks he could take the monster on due to its slow reflexes and fear of fire. Maybe he can team up with Matthew to cinch the win? The Woflman would be his bane with his heightened senses, speed, and strength.
Katelynn, Marketing, is quite realistic when it comes to taking on a monster, estimating she could probably beat Mike Wazowski in combat. So does Daria in Sales. Poor fellow. Looks like he needs to watch his back this season.
Amy D. Sales, doesn’t fancy her chances against the notoriously scary Michael Myers. Maybe she can buy herself time to escape with some of the famous Halloween feast snacks she preps for her boys every year?
After compiling this list, I’m jonesing for a bag of candy just for myself and a movie marathon. How do you get in the mood for Halloween?
