Celebrate Philanthropy this Season of Giving

‘Tis the season of giving! As a previous article of ours pointed out, there’s some serious overlap this year between December’s Big Three, with the first day of Hanukkah falling on the same Day as Christmas, and Kwanza beginning the day after.

A hallmark of all three of these celebrations is the giving and receiving of gifts between loved ones, but for many, the season of giving is also about giving back.

BigSpeak is proud to partner not only with local nonprofits and schools like Heal the Ocean, Peabody Charter School, and One Tree Planted. We also represent speakers who donate some or all of their speaker fees to non-profits, going the extra mile in their efforts to give back.

Corporate social responsibility keynote speaker Scott Harrison is the founder and CEO of charity: water, a nonprofit with the goal of giving every person on the planet access to clean drinking water. To date, this enterprise has amassed over 1 million supporters, and provided  14.7 million people in 29 different countries with clean, safe drinking water.

Lauren Bush Lauren is an activist, speaker,  model, and the founder and CEO of FEED, a social-impact driven brand which has operated since 2007. Through FEED’s model, each product sold results in direct donations to on-the-ground giving partners, bringing over 127 million meals to children via their schools. FEED was initially founded with the aim of directly addressing childhood hunger, and has since expanded to address environmental issues, prioritizing sustainability in their manufacturing process.

Humanitarian, speaker, and Top 10 CNN Hero Doc Hendley is the founder of Wine to Water, a non-profit bringing clean water to those in need in communities around the world. To date, his ventures have reached nearly 2 million people in 53 countries, aiding in developing water, hygiene, and sanitation solutions, which in turn impact sustainability, improved education, and women’s empowerment, among other community factors.

Brothers Bert and John Jacobs are business speakers, entrepreneurs, and the co-founders of Life is Good, a $160 million lifestyle brand that spreads optimism and goodwill. Over the past 29 years, they have built a vibrant community of artists and do-gooders, with the company donating 10% of its annual net profits to the Life is Good Playmaker Project, which reaches over 1 million children a year via providing training and support for early childhood professionals who assist children who have been met with life-threatening adversity.
