2020h What A Year!

As we wind down a year like no other, we are reflecting on all that happened, especially in the last 8 months.  We started the year with excitement and anticipation, kicking off a new decade.  Soon, our excitement turned to uncertainty and then, fear as we navigated through shutdowns, stay-at-home orders, and eventually, work-from-home life (and now we just say “WFH.”). Navigating this new way of living was challenging for many of us – homeschooling, getting used to a new remote work landscape, trying to find enough toilet paper, empty grocery shelves.  And in a year that didn’t stop, we had to also deal with cultural and political unrest.  Eventually, we all have found our groove and human kindness shone through.

We recently asked our team to reflect upon the last year and share what we have learned.  We all believe that our work matters, and that the hardship of this last year can make us individually, our team, and our partners more resilient.

We are humbly in awe of the event industry in the monumental pivot we’ve had to endure this year. Not only did we need to pause on our way of managing events, but we also needed to pivot to what an event, meeting, or gathering would look like in this new virtual world.  We came out stronger –  helping our clients navigate new booking experiences, assisting our speakers with at-home studios for the next virtual presentations, all while supporting our BigSpeak Team and Family.

In BigSpeakWorld, we are thrilled at what our team has been able to accomplish.  Some highlights to note:

• 5.6 million served and 9100 bookings in our 25 years of expert service
• Named one of INC5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies for the 6th year in a row
• Serving over 72% of the Fortune 1000 companies – industries ranging from Healthcare, Education, Technology, Finance, and more
• And have saved over 9.5M metric tons of Carbon due to the new virtual event landscape
